You did it.

The weight is gone.
What about the skin?

You stood in front of the mirror expecting to feel triumphant. Instead you found yourself holding your stomach in your hands, thinking: this isn't what I pictured.

This is not a discipline problem.
Let me say this clearly

You cannot exercise skin.

I don't think anyone has said that to you. So I will.

You did the hardest thing you've ever done. Months of discipline, the thing you'd been trying to do for years, finally done. And the skin didn't follow. That isn't a failure of effort, and it isn't something you missed. It's biology working on a slower timeline than you were promised.

Your body did exactly what you asked it to do. The skin is just still catching up.

What actually happened

Two tissues. Two completely different timelines.

Skin is living tissue with real structure — collagen and elastin scaffolding held together in a matrix. When that scaffolding is stretched over time and the volume underneath disappears quickly, it doesn't automatically contract. Especially after fast loss. Especially after 40, when collagen turnover has already slowed.

What the fat did

Responded to the deficit, shrank on schedule, and left.

Weeks to months.

What the skin did

Kept the structure it had been asked to hold for years, and is now rebuilding it from the inside.

Months to years — and it needs help.

The part that should give you relief

Skin isn't inert. It responds.

Collagen remodeling is an active biological process. It isn't something you wait out — it's something you can support. The goal was never to shrink skin. It's to give the tissue what it needs to rebuild its own structure.

  • Circulation

Skin sits at the very end of the nutrient supply chain. Better blood flow means the building blocks actually arrive.

  • Cellular energy

Fibroblasts — the cells that make collagen — need ATP to do it at all. Low energy means slow remodeling.

  • The right stimulus

Enough to signal the tissue to rebuild. Not enough to damage it. That line is everything.

Every one of those is a systems problem, not a skincare problem. Which is exactly why the answer was never going to be in a jar.

What I'm building

This is a big part of what I'm bringing to the studio this fall.

New technology built to support exactly this — tissue that needs to rebuild its own structure, without damage and without downtime. And a whole category of work that supports the body, not just the face. The wellness community here in Sunset Harbour is building it with me.
